not the first time a Senator has allowed his Congressional duties to lapse while he ran for higher office.
Leiberman did the same thing last election.
On the other hand Bob Dole did the honorable thing and resigned his Senate seat to run against Clinton.
Not a coincidence that Bob is a Republican. Needless to say which party consistently sherks their Senate duties in simular situations.
