I voted...

and savoured every moment of coloring in the rectangles.

Besides voting for President and Vice President, I also got to vote for US Representives, Railroad Commissioners, Texas Supreme Court Justices, Court of Criminal Appeals Judges, State Representatives, various other judges and justices, a district attorney, a sheriff and even a tax assessor-collector... Some of the names were unknown to me. Looked them all up and had a gander at who they were and what they were about.

Once my choices were made, I sealed my ballot into the pink envelope and then that went into the bigger white one and was sealed with my signature.

But how to be sure it would arrive in D DeBeauvoir's hands without fail? Called FedEx for a collection and was about to confirm my order when the customer service rep told me the price - 67+ euros! Needless to say, I cancelled. That's nearly a week's groceries.

One of the get-out-the-expatriate-vote sites had informed me that DHL is offering a discount for Americans sending their votes in from overseas, but the nearest DHL is an hour away.

So, I had to settle for Weasel Post. A registered letter with return receipt...7 euros 10 cents.

Best 7 dollars I ever spent.

Yay! Good for you! Une citoyenne propre!

Bravo Valerie!
Now, the rest of us will do our part on November 2.

Get out and vote people.
Vote as if your life depneded on it.
Because it does.

Joe - Well, I do try my best to be 'propre'. ;) Were you aiming to say 'proper'? If so, that would translate into French as 'correct' or 'comme il faut'. Je suis une citoyenne Américaine comme il faut.

('Propre' in French is more about cleanliness, or doing something properly... Je suis propre = I am clean.)

Val -

Vote Bush!

;^)

What? Those things aren't "postage paid"?

Yes, inside the US. Sure.

:-)))))
Thanks for the laugh !

Now it's confirmed, there's a land, and a candidate, for the paranoids.
Run and hide yourself under your bed Valerie !
They're coming for you !

Me - First, a NAME would be nice.

Second, your comment doesn't make sense to me.

Get out and vote people. Vote as if your life depneded on it. Because it does.

:-)))))
Thanks for the laugh !

Explain further. Do you not agree? Is that your point?

Well, explain WHY.

I don't run and I don't hide Gutless One Who Won't Sign Name. And neither does my President.

I leave being spineless up to people like you.

OK. For the wiseguy troll that I was lenient with the first time around, you are banned. Come back again with another IP and idiotic comemnts and I'll ban you again.

That'll teach me to let weasels comment in my threads.

Hmmmph!

I heard MTV has a get out the vote drive called "vote or die".

If democrats are calling all young people to vote or die, then I think it is prudent for Republicans to vote as if your life depends on it.

I'll crawl out from under the covers long enough to do that, Mr me.
And if you, or any other greasy pimple face wants to stop me, bring it on.
