This makes me angry
This is scandalous!
One woman who voted early in Boca Raton...complained that as she stood in line, two men behind her were "trashing our president," Fletcher said, declining to identify the woman. She tried to ignore them. Then the man touched her arm and said, "Who are you voting for?""I said, `I don't think that's an appropriate question,'" the woman said she responded.
"Uh oh! We have a Bush supporter here," screamed the man behind her.
For the 2 1/2 hours she had to wait in line, she was heckled by the man. As they neared the voting room, someone in the rear of the line yelled, "I sure hope everyone here is voting for Kerry!" she reported.
That's when the man behind her held his hand over her head and screamed, "We have a Republican right here!" There were "boos and jeers" from the crowd.
"I felt intimidated, harassed and threatened!" the woman wrote in her complaint to the Republican Party.
Why is this being allowed to happen? Why do people now think that it is acceptable to harass people who are preparing to vote? Why aren't the people working the polls telling ignoramuses like these to shut up or get out?
Why not get a few cops to hang around and shut the thugs up? How hard could that be to arrange?
Why isn't the Republican Party putting people in place to insure that Republicans aren't harassed?
I don't get it. I just don't get it.
Posted by Valerie at October 23, 2004 06:44 PMDemocrats have discovered a delightful little legal hole - what else is new.
Posted by: Doug at October 24, 2004 04:00 AMIt's extremely common.
On saturday morning I was out early for a walk. The sun wasn't even up yet.
Every Bush/Cheney lawn sign that I know of was torn up.
I picked up a few of them, including the busted up wooden stakes and dropped them off at the doorway of the Kerry Campaign HQ two blocks from my apartment. They faced a heavily trafficked roadway.
I don't know if there's any connection, but in this morning's paper, there was a fairly large item about vandalizing conservative-candidate signs. It must be compensation for a piece the Wash Post ran friday about sign vandalism from "both sides".
I imagine there was a flurry of response to the contrary, as I have never seen a Kerry poster get torn up or defaced, and it's not for a lack of looking. As a conservative, I hate the idea of a few eager-beavers behaving intolerantly or trashing anything, so I keep on the lookout for it.
And the populist hatemongers at K/E HQ probably thought that the trashed signs were tribute...
Posted by: Doug at October 25, 2004 02:29 PMWhoever you are (calling yourself 'me'):
I never 'pretend' anyone is a troll. If you act like one, then you ARE one.
Your tone is nasty and you don't justify your statements.
How difficult for you to comment politely! May I suggest you 'face' your own contradictions and ask yourself 'Why would someone want to read the garbage I write?'
Btw, if E-nough! offers its readers the possibility to comment on our posts, that does NOT mean we have to put up with petty little trolls. We are adults here. Act like one.
Posted by: Valerie at October 25, 2004 04:25 PMSo Val,
Don't you want Andy, Joe, Doug, Damian, Paper Tiger and the rest of the gang to have any fun?

LOL Val,
I don't have a license to use lethal weapons!
Posted by: Valerie at October 25, 2004 08:40 PMYou don't need one.
