Hasta siempre, French 2004 remix
France may be free falling. It is actually, without a doubt. What amazes me is how low the whole country will just keep falling voluntarily.
Maurice G. Dantec, in a recent op-ed that Le Figaro apparently refused to publish, wrote:
France disgusts me. She revolts me. Makes me vomit literally. This old, toothless whore still pretends to smile while her historical menopause relegated her to the bottom of the ladder of prostitute nations.
Must I write that I agree with Dantec? Especially after reading the following:
A demonstration has gathered between 2,000 and 6,000 people in Paris on Saturday, called by the LCR [Revolutionary Communist league] and about 30 organizations against the erection of the "wall of shame" and the situation of the Palestinians in Israel. . . Yelling "Bush-Sharon, murderers" or "the wall must fall", the demonstrators, some of them wearing keffiehs and portraits of recently [sic] deceased president Arafat, have demonstrated behind a painted sheet symbolizing the security fence the Israeli government has started to build to isolate the autonomous Palestinian territories.
Fighting terror in a very special way. Very special. Communists and IslamoFascists, hand in hand.
Dantec again:
Then we better understand the fright of the cleaning men and the inspectors of the Machine's shelf-space, like the Nouvel Observateur, Libération, or Marianne, and Le Monde, in front of the World - precisely - that shows up, the World they did not anticipate, the World they did not want to see, the World they refused to imagine, while they were themselves fixing its premonitory symptoms, 40 years ago. The Monster whose look they now refuse to stare, this absolute monster that is the modern, post-modern, resurgence of Islam, was born from their world, that world in which mental submission to marxism-leninism had already shaped the minds for the definitive aslama: the one that makes you kowtow on a prayer carpet. Then, of course, the "unilateral" attitude of a "cowboy from Texas," despised - imagine! - by these Lights of the Universe that are Messrs Colombani, Pierre Marcelle, J.F. Kahn or Jean Daniel, is really less "flexible," less "diplomatic," less favorable - to sum it up - to the continuous adaptation of the body to the tight flows received in the anus. The servile politicians in charge of the Titanic France are making a demonstration of the surgical precision, to say the least, [of these flows] everytime they come back from Algiers, Tunis, Tehran or Damascus.
Really, we understand how bloody stupid Americans are not to vote like the French, or inhabitants of Waziristan, would.
The keffiehs are multiplying in the Parisian subway. The legend of Yasser Arafat (nice choice of words Ms. Chahid) lives on here. But the faces in the subway are sadder with every piece of news that confirms the miserable failure they embody. Titanic France continues full speed ahead, droit dans le mur.
[I apologize for the translation of Maurice G. Dantec's articles, a translation which is, I'm afraid, insipid compared to the excellence of his writing. I encourage French speakers to go read the entire articles in French]
