The Italian job?
UPDATE: LGF has a photo of the car that Sgrena has said was being fired on by an American 'char' or tank to us English-speakers. That is how her account was translated for French TV... (My image: M6)
Have a read here and tell me what you think about Ms Sgrena's kidnapping.
I don't want to appear callous, kidnapping is no laughing matter, but anyone who immediately starts spouting accusations of 'the Americans wanted me dead' is suspect, don't you think? Like the French were when they tried to accuse American soldiers of interfering with the liberation of the French journalists.
It's just way overboard. What illusions of grandeur Sgrena has. What information could she possibly have that would lead to the USA putting out a hit on her...and then MISS her?!
Posted by Valerie at March 6, 2005 02:10 PMHow can we trust a country who lies on WMD ?
How can we trust a country who lies on pretending that there
were links between Saddam & Al Qaida ?
How can we trust a country who torture people like animals ?
How can we trust a country who invade another country for
personnal convinience ? ( To get oil ... )
" and then MISS her ? "
They didn't miss her bodyguard !
Nice shot ... Congratulations !
Anti-americanism is growing evereywhere in the world.

Oh, brave troll incapable of giving us a REAL e-mail address, you are no one to be talking about T-R-U-S-T. What are you so scared of? That we'll hunt you down and shoot you because you know 'something'?
As for your 'comments', well, you obviously wouldn't believe anything I have to say, so why should I bother, eh?
Use a real address next time, or I will continue to ban you. How many different addresses have you tried now? 5? 6? My, you really enjoy diddling all day in front of your screen.
Remember, 3 strikes...but I'm being generous because I want my readers to see what you're
like, although this time, I must admit, you were much less vulgar and threatening towards the female authors here at E-nough!
What's the matter, you don't insult women on the Lord's day?

And how can we trust a dork like you, telling 100% lies?
There were WMDs in Irak, just get some informations, I'm not your mother (hint: check the UNSCOM).
There were a lot of links between Saddam and Al Qaeda, one bloody example Ansaar al-Islam.
Several stupid American soldiers acting without orders had bad behaviours with bloody terrorists, they were punished for that, by American soldiers. It never was such thing as torture. Words have a definition, go back to school or purchase a dictionnary, and get the definition of hte word "torture".
If the US freed Irakis for their oil, therefore they missed their mission: who is presently owning Iraki oil? Irakis. And who's defending the oil fields owned by Irakis from bloody barbed islamo-fascists? Americans. And who rebuilds oil extraction facilities? Halliburton. And who pays for that? American tax payers.
I can't say it better than M. Ashamed Frenchman. I thank him for relieving me of the bother of Sr. Angelo, someone too beautiful for this world.

Posted by: Damian Bennett at March 6, 2005 05:23 PMI have mixed emotions about AF's post. I read the first troll post and was busy writing a response in the back of my mind until I got to AF's response. So all I accomplished was to waste a bit of brain power and to be honest, I can't afford that.
The only thing I could add is apparently our goal was to drive up the price of oil - yeah, $55 a barrel and climbing, it was all about the oil all right (no, climbing oil prices aren't good for refiners and such. Stable or slowly changing prices (either way) are best. Rapidly dropping prices give a short term windfall but rapidly climbing prices only helps Opec).
About six months ago or so I read numbers on Halliburton - they were guaranteed 1.8 billion dollars in compensation - max - by the US govt, but they had already spent something closer to $13 billion. Anybody know if they got a better deal? Even Microsoft couldn't keep up a money losing operation like that forever.

Assuming it WAS a kidnapping of course, which to me doesn;t seem likely.
300-400 rounds from an armored vehicle? Uh, no, I don't think so. Had 300-400 rounds been fired from an armored vehicle you'd look at that picture and the first thing you'd think would be "that was a car?".
My opinion, they tried to run that checkpoint because they had a rendezvous (probably mispelled, I don't care - it's a french word anyway) with a reporter and somebody with a camera.
Well, maybe not - heard on Fox a bit ago her car was headed toward the airport. Yeah, that makes sense. Had I just been released by kidnappers I would have headed for the authorities, be they Iraqi or US (or for that matter, Russian, Chinese, or anybody).
Posted by: Jay at March 7, 2005 01:09 AMCheck out LGF. The car is not THE car, but a car that MSM were hoping to pass off... You get the picture - fake and accurate.
Is there a picture of the real car anywhere? LGF had a couple car links in addition to the pic they showed but they all looked like the same car to me (even after the update).
Posted by: Jay at March 7, 2005 01:51 AMOdd, isn't it that the MSM didn't take huge closeup pix of the Car of Death and release them, eh?
Posted by: Valerie at March 7, 2005 02:01 AMNot to mention showing the car having crashed into something - like it just magically stopped somewhere.
Posted by: Jay at March 7, 2005 03:05 AMIf an M-1 tank had fired its main gun (105mm), nothing would be left of the car. If the 7.62 mm machine gun all would have died. If the tank commander's 20 mm gun shot the car, all would be dead and the car would be swiss cheese.
If the US Army wanted her dead, she would be dead! Why did they let her live and then give medical treatment?
Time to trade the tin foil hats for copper foil -- better conductivity and drink deep of the grape koolaid.
