Does he ever work?

Dominique de Villepin has written yet another book. I'd like to remind our non-French readers that he is indeed still France's Interior Minister.

This time, he has teamed up with former communist, Spanish author Jorge Semprun and it is supposed to be a defense plea for the YES to the EU constitution, "a reflexion on Europe, improved with cultural references".

For Jorge Semprun and Dominique de Villepin, "only the 'yes' can be the starting point for a new Europe."

"New" Europe?

Jorge Semprun attacks French socialists in favor of the 'no', accusing Laurent Fabius and Henri Emmanuelli, former advocates of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992, to be "idiots without memory or irresponsible."

You must be laughing from the over side of the Atlantic. Although it might not be that funny.
