The useful idiots "of our time" at AI
Reminder: here AI stands for Amnesty International and certainly not Artificial Intelligence (is there any intelligence left at all in this organization anyway?).
Maybe the people who work at Amnesty International really do think that the imprisonment of 600 certain or suspected terrorists is tantamount to the imprisonment of 25 million slaves.
Maybe they could have done this comparison themselves before making ridiculous and offensive (at the very least to Gulag's victims) remarks.
Posted by Carine at May 27, 2005 12:27 PMThat's all very easy for you to say Carine, but the facts are out now. It has been proven that American guards at Guantanamo have actually touched the Q'ran on no less than 5 separate occasions. Okay, two may have been accidental touchings, but they still touched the Q'ran right? Right? That's just the typical type of behavior that one expects to find in a gulag.
I certainly hope that true intellectual artists will be outraged over this. I know for a fact that Fernando Botero has just started another series on these flagrant Q'ran touchings! He's the perfect artist for showing fat American fingers touching Q'rans with reckless abandon.
It's just another example of just how "touchy feely" Americans are today.

And in one of the instances it was prisoners beating a guard with a Koran when the touching occurred (I'm sure the guard will go to prison for a long time for that).

Posted by: Doug at May 29, 2005 05:26 PMSuch are examples of fun declarations by those who've declared themselves sole arbiters of truth.
remember in liberalism: the past is unimportant... unless it's inconvient to liberalism ideology
