POLICE CHIEF LAUNCHES 'SOLIDARITY' RIBBON

August 12, 2005 (Telegraph) - A Chief Constable is asking his 4,000 officers to wear green ribbons, the traditional colour of Islam, to show solidarity with Muslims after the London bomb attacks.

Steve Green, of Nottinghamshire police, also wants the public to adopt the ribbon to support Muslims "being held hostage by fear".

The force has seen a 50 per cent rise in racial and religiously motivated crime since July 7 and Mr Green said non-Muslims had asked him how they could show their support. The force has ordered 20,000 ribbons at a cost of £2,000.

The idea was welcomed by Dr Musharraf Hussain, imam of Nottingham's largest mosque and a senior member of the Muslim Council of Britain, as "a wonderful gesture".

No offense to our Muslim readers, but we are not in solidarity with Islam. We support the full complement of your rights and protections in law to be secure in your person. But do we feel some special thing for Islam? No. And why would we?

Let's work back from this piece of fluff.

Islamites engineered the attacks on the WTC towers, the resort bombing in Bali, the train bombings in Madrid, the train bombings in London, the bombing extravaganza in Bangladesh, and on a daily basis terrorist attacks in Iraq and Israel. Numerous other Islamite projects have been foiled. Islamites have openly declared their hostility to the West and outlined their bigger plans to restore a caliphate and the glories of the 13th century. Why are Muslims surprised that we feel no special thing for them?

Muslims run riot and kill their own on the false report of Quran desecrations. Yet not one yip of outrage for Bibles desecrated as toilet paper by Islamites who've overrun the Church of the Nativity. Why are Muslims surprised that we feel no special thing for them?

Muslim culture and law embodies or tolerates practices and attitudes that are antithetical to Western culture and political philosophy: Wife beating, child marriage, honor killings, limited suffrage, scripture as statutory law, to name a few. Why are Muslims surprised that we feel no special thing for them?

Islam is turning the world on its head. Islam informs the aspirations and actions of a majority of terrorists. Muslims would do themselves some good if they woke up to these realities. They would do themselves better if they uniequivocally and forcefully and repeatedly condemned those in their religion that have made them and their religion objects of suspicion. When frustrated media-savvy imams complain that the Muslim community has already condemned Islamic terror, well, we reply, you can't do it often enough. Oh, and we can do without empty fatwas against terrorism signed by terrorism boosters and dissemblers.

Now for Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire is an English county in the East Midlands. Its conurbation has a population of about 650,000.

What are we to make of a "50 per cent rise in racial and religiously motivated crime since July 7"? This sounds suspicuously like a big statistic built on small numbers. Was racial and religiously motivated crime rampant in Nottinghamshire prior to July 7? If there were 10 such crimes annually, for example, then 15/650,000 is not the huge jump that 50 per cent implies. There is no way to tell from this article.

Then again Nottinghamshire has a ridiculously loose definition of racist crime:

What do the police treat as racist harassment? Nottinghamshire Police clearly define racist harassment as:

"ANY INCIDENT WHICH IS PERCEIVED TO BE RACIST BY THE VICTIM OR ANY OTHER PERSON." (Provided by the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry)

If you, or someone you know, have been subject to any sort of racist harassment the police will deal with it as a racist incident. There are no exceptions to this – no “ifs”, no “buts”. All you need to know is:

"IF YOU SAY IT’S RACIST , IT IS"

Well, Muslims have had it so drummed into their heads by their imams, the media, their local councils, the bigger government, and now their constabulary that they are victims of some sort, we imagine any incident between a Muslim and a non-Muslim tends to be reported by the Muslim as racist -- no “ifs”, no “buts”.

This is not to mitigate racist crime. But considering the Islamite's zeal in the pursuit of religious and racist crimes against Christians and Jews and the big world of the kaffir, the West has been exceptionally tolerant. Actually docile.

With far less cause, Muslims among the kaffir think themselves at risk. Aside from an understandable suspicion of Muslim communities that tolerate Islamic extremism, Western kaffir have not organized campaigns to abduct, murder, bomb, or behead Muslims.

After each Islamite atrocity, the West waits for "a wonderful gesture" from its native Muslims and the larger Muslim community. Instead we are told that "Muslims are the first victims of Islamic extremism" or, as Chief Constable Green maintains, "hostages to fear".

Muslims feel no special thing for the kaffir, unless it is disdain or contempt. They wear no pretty white ribbon to advertise solidarity with Daniel Pearl, Paul Johnson Jr., Nicholas Berg, and Kim Sun-il. Why are Muslims surprised that we feel no special thing for them?

No thank you on the ribbon.
