Happy Anniversary

For the Benjamin Franklin tercentenary, I thought I would post a picture of a commemorative plaque mentioning him in Paris.

I found out only recently about the plaque. The truth is that it is not easily accessible. It is situated near the place de la Concorde, at the corner of the Rue Royale, at the opposite of the entrance of the Crillon Hotel. There is a fence in front of it, which explains why I couldn't take a better picture.

In Washington Times 17th Jan about Ben:

Franklin's greatest public triumph was likely as a diplomat, persuading France to aid the Colonies in their fight against the British...

So, Carine, thanks for thinking of Ben...I'm sure he would love it that some of the French (only the best!) still think of him. And I'm sure he would thank you for the "aid"!

Ben also has a bronze statue, near
the Navy museum, Place du Trocadero, about 800 metres opposite to George's statue, Place d'Iena.
