Unionists refuse police stop the looters

Oh, by the way, I forgot.

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy asked that police do a better job during today's demonstrations: that they protect demonstrators and prevent those joining the demonstrations only to break and loot, well, to break and loot. So they're going to infiltrate demonstrations.

Only there's a little problem.

But on Saturday, heads of unions indicated during a meeting with Nicolas Sarkozy that they were "opposed" to the police arresting looters inside the demonstrations [among demonstrators] against the CPE. "This would result in provocations", declared Jacques Girod, of Force Ouvrière.

And then they'll come whining when one of them, too drunk to defend himself, ends up in a coma [and so far there is no evidence the police is responsible].
