Nidra Poller on French casseurs
What if this dazzling movement is more cartoon jihad than Mai '68? Socialist Party leader François Hollande, all bluster and bite in l'Assemblée Nationale, pokes his finger at Dominique de Villepin and demands immediate withdrawal of the pernicious CPE. The situation, cries Mr. Hollande, is EXPLOSIVE! The Conference of University Presidents sent a delegate to implore the prime minister to suspend the abrasive CPE and initiate a six-month period of dialogue and reflection, for the sake of apaisement social.... Posted by Carine at March 29, 2006 10:41 AMI'm scribing a new word in my personal lexicon: francomancy. It's a sort of magic where anything is possible if enough people are assembled with torches and pitchforks demanding it to happen. Rivers can run uphill, mice can eat cats, and you can consume without producing. You can even walk the length of a Paris street without stepping in anything undignified if you just call it your "right" to.
