Rest in peace

France has lost one of his last great men.

Jean-François Revel is dead. May he rest in peace. He will be greatly missed, especially in today's France.

Carine,

Hadn't heard of it. Just read your post. My heart is broken. "Ho merde!" was my first reaction.
JF Revel was the most brilliant thinker available in France. Although he was not as "mediatized" as Aaron, he was one of similar significant importance, if not more. I'll miss his books and always to the point analysis. My thoughts are going to his son.
God Bless his Soul.

France was lucky to have this great man and for us it was hope that all was not yet lost in this country! He loved America! We'll miss him!
Yes, God bless his soul!

Carine introduced me to M. Revel. Pave pays its tribute here.

I pass on Carine's original instruction to me: Read him.
