Terrorist Frenchman now wants to plead not guilty

Here's what happens when you treat a savage like a human being.

Convicted September 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the plot that destroyed the World Trade Center and wants to withdraw his guilty plea because he now believes he can get a fair trial.

In a motion filed Friday but released yesterday, Moussaoui, 37, said he testified March 27 he was supposed to hijack a fifth plane on September 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House "even though I knew that was a complete fabrication."

He got a fair trial.

How he's going to get a fair incarceration.

He will spend his days alone in a small maximum security solitary-confinement soundproofed metal room with tiny barred plexi windows overlooking an empty exercise yard....23 hours a day. He will have no phone or TV. All other reading matter or human contact will be treated as a privilege. All contact will be limited as much as possible in any case...and the guards will not speak with him. He will not be allowed to visit the doctor or his lawyer…they will be brought to him if necessary. He will be treated exactly how obstreperous inmates are…and they all crack and want to go back to the general population.

If he does go to the general prison population, the Aryan Brotherhood is waiting for him.

His choices are a slow decline into insanity through loneliness, or a quick death from a shiv in the shower.

In supermax, showers are in the cell. He will have a small black and white TV that gets 3 or 4 channels.

I personally would have been curious to see how long he lasted in a normal prison. I regret that I now will never know...
