NYC Letter: Operation Gratitude

As Halloween approaches, we brace ourselves for Christmas in the compressed procession of seasonal cheer.

Although we hate the lawn Santas, wire reindeer, the miles of tinsel, and the galaxies of pin lights, although we hate the cheapness, we can still make out something of the original commemoration in the approaching holiday crush.

E-Nough! invites all our readers and skimmers to commemorate Christmas by extending your goodwill to our military.

Hundreds of thousands of American troops are deployed in hostile and remote regions of the world, including the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, Guantanamo Bay and on ships throughout international waters. The physical conditions they must endure are difficult and they may be separated from loved ones for long periods of time. OPERATION GRATITUDE seeks to lift troops' morale, and bring a smile to their faces by sending care packages to service members overseas.

[Hat tip Erik at ¡No Pasarán!]

It would be a shame if holidays alone inspirited our gratitude. But it would be a greater shame if the holidays passed without a show of our gratitude.
