7 mai 2008 (Figaro) - « Sortir définitivement du carcan des 35 heures. » À sa manière, François Fillon a célébré, mardi à l'Assemblée nationale, l'élection de Nicolas Sarkozy à la présidence de la République. Le premier ministre n'était jamais allé aussi loin dans la dénonciation publique des 35 heures. Le mot «définitivement» a d'ailleurs déclenché la colère de la gauche. Mais François Fillon avait décidé, mardi, de cogner fort.

... « L'idée la plus fausse en France, ça a été l'idée du partage du temps de travail. Le partage du temps de travail, c'est une erreur économique doublée d'un scandale social », a-t-il martelé lors de ce déplacement en province consacré à l'emploi des seniors. « La vérité, c'est que plus il y a de gens qui travaillent, plus on crée de richesses, plus il y a de croissance et plus il y a de travail pour tout le monde », a-t-il enchéri en présence de Xavier Bertrand, son ministre du Travail, et de Laurent Wauquiez, secrétaire d'État à l'Emploi.

L'UMPS rally to the president to make good on Sarko's campaign promise to do away with the 35-hour work week.

Je souhaite à l'occasion du dixième anniversaire des 35 heures que le dispositif soit définitivement démantelé.

[On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the 35-hour work week, I wish this measure permanently demolished.]

Patrick Devedjian voulait revenir complètement sur la notion de durée légale à 35 heures. Nous n'y sommes pas favorables.
