COLUMBUS/SAN ANTONIO March 3, 2008 (Telegraph) - Hillary Clinton, triumphant after winning the big states of Ohio and Texas last night, hinted today that she might be prepared to share the Democratic presidential ticket with her rival Barack Obama.

"That may, you know, be where this is headed, but of course we have to decide who's on the top of ticket," the former First Lady said with a chuckle on CBS television.

Suggestions that Mr Obama, who holds a lead among pledged delegates that is almost mathematically impossible to overcome, could be her vice-presidential running mate infuriate aides to the Illinois senator, who dismiss them as a blatant attempt to demean him.
