PARIS January 17, 2009 (IHT) - France's interior ministry says masked thieves who attacked a young man east of Paris to steal his car repeatedly stabbed him after noticing he was wearing a Jewish symbol.... The ministry said in a statement Friday that the attackers shouted anti-Semitic threats at the man as they stabbed him four times with a knife in the Thursday evening attack. It did not provide details on the man's condition.
Alliot-Marie has said France has experienced a clear increase in anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attacks since Israel began an assault against Hamas in Gaza on Dec. 27.
There have been some 55 anti-Semitic attacks in France since Israel's Gaza offensive. [Pause.] No word yet on those anti-Muslim attacks.

Paul H, who signs off as "connard", gives a performance of the French unanswerable argument. You see, Paul "Connard" H has "12 centuries of historical facts". In and of itself such a nonspecific claim is sufficient to dismiss French anti-Semitism. Forget that one of those "historical facts" is the French deportation of French Jews to death camps.
And forget the facts in the post's report. Or this post or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this or this, to link but fifteen.

Pave France, from whence we come, is ranked 27,946. Dormant since May 17, 2007, it has drawn 163,241 visitors over the past year and still averages 72 visitors a day without the benefit of fresh content.

You could have mentionned, as well, the numerous massacres of Jews by French people during the 12th century, the 13th century, the 14th century, the 15th century, the 16th century.
When you read very well researched historical books on French provinces, you realise that in all those French provinces, there are a lot of towns where Jews were slaughtered by French people... probably the ancestors of this hateful "Paulh"...

What escapes Paul "Connard" H is that "12 centuries of historical facts" carries with it more indictments of France than we make.
Generally we confine ourselves to Republican France, most especially modern Republican France. We are more concerned about the murder of Ilan Halimi in 21st century France than, say, the trial of Alfred Dreyfus in 19th century France.
Modern France, by which we mean the Fourth Republic on, believes denying native anti-Semitism is the same thing as fighting, punishing, vanquishing anti-Semitism. Hardly.
And modern French hate law, well, that's working brilliantly. Outlaw hate. Hate begone! You see, no more anti-Semitism. It's against the law. It is not really hate law, because such a law is impossible to enforce. It is public etiquette law for those who think the Jew conniving and avaricious but, by law, must confine their anti-Semitism to their black hearts.
