NYC Letter: Awesome Arrogance & Greed

Day 15 of CHOPE

We learned this week that even as they petitioned for taxpayer assistance, Wall Street firms shamefully paid out nearly $20 billion in bonuses for 2008. While I'm committed to doing what it takes to maintain the flow of credit, the American people will not excuse or tolerate such arrogance and greed.

The good news, Mr. Obama knows where this $20B went.

Mr. Obama is tetchy about taxpayer money reported as misspent. He is in delicate negotiations to coax a few token Republican votes to spin the biggest misspending authorization in the history of the American Republic as bipartisan.

News reports on the in-charge Democrats that disclose public extravagance (and this), hypocrisy, empty standards, double standards, phony standards,* misfeasance, and self-dealing, might queer the love, because [Pause.] these things smack of arrogance and greed.
