NYC Letter: Overwhelmed By Awesomeness, Part VI

Day 37 of CHOPE

I'm announcing today that I am asking my vice president, Joe Biden, to oversee our administration's implementation efforts. Beginning this week Joe will meet regualrly with key members of my cabinet to make sure our efforts are not just swift but also efficient and effective. ... The fact that I'm asking my vice president* to personally lead this effort shows how important it is for our country and our future to get this right. And I thank him for his willingness to take on this critical task.

[Lacuna. Hesitant tepid applause.]

...the American people are watching. They need this plan to work. And they expect to see their money spent in its intended purpose. That's why we've created Recovery-dot-gov. A Website that every American can go online to see how their money is spent and hold their Federal, state, and local officials to the high standards that they [scil., the American people] expect.

VP BIDEN FORGETS NAME OF RECOVERY WEB SITE

February 25, 2009 (WBZTV/CBS) - On the CBS Early Show Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden admitted he forgot the name of the web site (recovery.gov) set up to track how the stimulus money is spent.

The right guy to oversee the details of spending $787B.

CHOPE.

Don't know. Don't ask. Don't worry.

And you wondered what you'd write about when Then-Jack retired. Now you've got Abbott and Costello. Depsite the deluge of material, you're doing a great job keeping us apprised of the silliness coming out of the White House.

Duncan,

The "overwhelmed" of the headline is no overstatement.

CHOPE turns out to be retreaded Clinton II -- but with mojo. (For example, who today remembers that Rahm Emanuel was the ringmaster of Hillarycare, a failed nationalization of 17% of the economy?)

There are several stories that have gone begging because the big story -- Mr. Obama's restructuring the American economy as a government enterprise -- requires so much attention and time.

Several posts have been left unfinished and unposted. We hope to revisit and post some of these as catch-ups.
