Pave: Pave n'est plus là
Le jour 660 de Sarko
Dear reader, gentle skimmer, we were chagrined to discover that the archival Pave site (http://www.pavefrance.com) is no more. Gone. Without notice. Poof.
We never owned or controlled the site, though the owner offered it to us on more than one occasion. We just never did the deal. We were told that the site, forever frozen as of May 17, 2007, would remain available as an archive. That apparently has changed.
This will delight the franchouilles, but we are disappointed. For several years, we have put a lot of work into Pave. We worked hard to get facts straight, researched, sought first sources where possible, and struggled with the French language.
Admittedly Pave is a small garden, but it is held in some regard by those who challenge received notions of superior French culture and cosmopolitanism.
Now it is gone. All referring links in our E-Nough! and Pave-at-E-Nough! posts are dead.
We have contacted the owner in hopes that the site remains intact on some back-up medium that we can acquire.
We are not sure what is next. We are not sure if anything is next.
Posted by Damian at March 6, 2009 06:00 AMAs sad as I am to know all those wonderful posts
and images are lost to the mists of time, I take comfort in knowing that Pave still exists, here at E-nough!
Six years ago, Pave was a wild and wooly place.
Blogs can be likened to bars and Pave could, at times, resemble a bare knuckle bar room brawl.
Oh, those running battles in the comments fought by Doug, Andy, and Papertiger against the skittering diarrhea that passed for comments by the trolls. (I can't claim that phrase, it is one of Damian's gems.)
And Damian. Long before he took over the helm of Pave he was a deadly adversary in the comments who rightfully earned the name of MOAB for his ability to utterly destroy the foolish arguments of his opponents.
And the First Ladies of Pave should not be overlooked: the feisty Carine and the droll Valerie. Who went on to create E-nough!
Thank you for all those amazing posts Damian. Thank you for continuing the good fight here.
Posted by: Valerie, Texas at March 8, 2009 01:15 AMHopefully when "Damian" and the few others maintaining this pathetically bigoted blog will get a life, it will fall into the complete void too, for the sake of mankind and the dismay of few retarded Texans.
Posted by: Moi at March 30, 2009 07:16 PMAbove is someone styling himself "Moi". This is the flower of French wit.
M. Moi wishes us to get a life. Yet such is the void of his life that he comes to us, spending his precious time trolling our threads.
He accuses us of bigotry by revealing himself as a bigot. Perhaps thinking that as one who is, he is one who knows.
His every insult would appear to project M. Moi himself. Poor M. Moi, to be drawn to our cave to howl for our amusement.
