NYC Letter: Toast -- Elizabeth Warren
Day 1,050 of CHOPE
Elizabeth Warren is seeking the Democrat Senate nomination in Massachusetts. Yesterday Ms. Warren muffed a softball. Not her first muff, but a fatal Red Sox muff.
[Footage of the Hindenburg docking at Lakehurst.]
December 7, 2011 (Political Wire) - Elizabeth Warren (D) and the rest of the Democratic field for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts couldn't answer a simple question about the Boston Red Sox at a forum yesterday.Apparently, they learned nothing from Martha Coakley's (D) defeat two years ago when she took heat for refusing to campaign outside Fenway Park and called Red Sox great Curt Schilling a Yankee fan.
Here's the question.
Q: OK, Mr. Robertson, this one's for you. In what years, plural, did the Red Sox win the World Series in this century?MR. ROBERTSON: I will just pass on that one. [Audience commotion.] I'm a wrestler not a baseball fan.
Q: Ms. Warren?
MS. WARREN: Oh-four. Oh-eight?
The answer is 2004 and 2007. The 2004 win was notable for breaking the 86-year Curse Of The Bambino.
CHOPE.
Toast.
