Tuesday night Mr. Obama read another version of his 2011 SOTU speech -- minus the Solyndra brags. If you have seen Mr. Obama read any SOTU address, then you are pretty much caught up: Inherited near depression, made all the right choices, [Exciting new addition!] I killed bin Laden, work to do, God bless America and good night and good night.

The state of our Union is getting stronger.

SCHUMER ON STATE OF THE UNION:
'WE THINK WE ARE IN GREAT SHAPE'

January 25, 2011 (TWS) - New York senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) commented on Mitch Daniels' Republican response to the State of the Union Address at a press conference today on Capitol Hill. "The Republican speaker last night, Mitch Daniels, talked about Americans must talk about the state of the union as grave," Schumer said. "So, we think we are in great shape. We are in good shape."

Not merely good shape. Great shape. Mr. Schumer affirms the great shape of the union because he is confident you are this stupid. [Pause.] This is feeble dupery. As is apparent from his listless delivery in the video at the headline link, Mr. Schumer doesn't believe himself, and we suspect he knows you don't believe him.

The Democrat 2012 strategy is reading off the script for Weekend at Bernie's. That's a winner.
