Steeped in the eugenics of its founder, Margaret Sanger, an unapologetic but, Wikipedia assures us, courteous white supremist, Planned Parenthood's main business is abortions (329,445 abortions in 2010; 5,364,540 from 1970 through 2009). PP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which consistently turns a profit, $55.7M in 2005, $112M in 2006, $114.8M in 2007, $85M in 2008, $63.4M* in 2009, $18.5M in 2010. Forty-six percent of its operating budget is funded by the government through grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements.

Now it wants in on the masturbation business. For centuries Americans have managed self-discovery without "lots of info" from a quasi-government hand-in-your-pants. Most Americans figure out the simple operation with no info and no more assist than a glossy magazine secreted under the mattress.

National Masturbation Month, the month of May, is the promotional invention of San Francisco-based Good Vibrations, a sex toy and education company. No president has ever issued a proclamation celebrating National Masturbation Month, but who knows? Mr. Obama is always evolving.
